Drive a Ford Super Duty F-250 in New Jersey? Do These Popular Mods Now

Your F-250 is the Ford truck that defines "Super Duty" -- one built full-size for hard work. Hauling heavy equipment in-bed, trailering dirt bikes and ATVs, you name it. The model's sought after by day-laborers and off-roaders alike for good reason: it's expertly customizable.

You know this well. You're probably here looking for help on a project. Good thing you came to us before starting; we've got a huge selection of a lot of what you'll need for the job. It's Ford built, it's top-quality, and we discount steeply.

Here are the two places most modders start. Let's use the 2023 Ford Super Duty F-250 as an example of some of the ways you can go.

1. Performance

The truck's got gas and diesel V8 engines to choose from for 2023, but only the diesels come turbocharged. If you've got a naturally aspirated engine and you want a little more horsepower and torque out of it, consider adding a turbo. (Otherwise, if you want a bump for the turbocharger in your diesel, try upgrading to a supercharger.)

Then, it's just a matter of helping that engine make the best use of all that extra, higher-quality air in its oxygen-to-fuel ratio. Do that by swapping out for a performance air filter and converting to a cold air intake. Do that, and you should get better combustion.

2. Utility

Here, you can go any direction.

For one, try installing powered illuminated running boards. They'll make climbing into and out of the cab easier. (They're especially helpful if you've added ground clearance by raising the truck's suspension with a lift kit, beefier springs, and performance shocks and struts.)

Secondly, consider adding fender flares, plus mud guards or mud flaps; they'll help keep the wheel wells and undercarriage safer from all the crud kicked up across rugged terrain. Third, you can add a tonneau cover to protect gear in the box. Fourth, you can add a few towing accessories your weekend toys need: aside from necessities like a hitch, adapter, ball mount, and ball, we're talking safety features, recovery equipment, the whole bit.

Need any help installing anything? No problem; a Ford service center can take care of things.
